Na­tion­al Un­der-19 all-rounder Fa­reez Ali scored an un­beat­en 101 to lead Pre­sen­ta­tion Col­lege Ch­agua­nas to the Sec­ondary Schools Crick­et League (SS­CL) back-to-back Pre­mier­ship Di­vi­sion ti­tles at Bam­boo Set­tle­ment, Val­sayn on Thursday.

The win came against Vish­nu Boys’ Hin­du Col­lege which be­came the first school to score 200 against them this sea­son.

Vish­nu Boys were put in to bat first and got 83 for the open­ing stand with Chris­t­ian Lall, who made 49, and Is­rael Gon­za­les, who scored 44. The home team stum­bled and lost Lall, Is­hant Roop­nar­ine and Zachary Madray (0) as they lost three wick­ets in four runs.

When it looked like Pre­sen­ta­tion was go­ing to turn the screws, af­ter the wick­et of Is­rael Gon­za­les at 126 for four, An­drew Ram­baran (50) and skip­per Ish­mael Ali (61) built a 54-run part­ner­ship to take the home team to 234 for six, be­com­ing the on­ly team to cross 200 against Pre­sen­ta­tion.

They were even­tu­al­ly bowled out for 242 in 48.2 overs.

In re­ply and in search of 243 to win, Dar­rius Ba­toos­ingh and Jaden Joseph scored 17 each but the cham­pi­ons were 60 for three when Chris­tiano Ra­manan joined the open­ers back in the pavil­ion. Luke Ali and Fa­reez Ali scored a 69-run part­ner­ship be­fore Luke de­part­ed for 56. Fa­reez was then joined by Za­kariyya Mo­hammed, who stayed un­til the end with the for­mer Na­pari­ma Col­lege cap­tain. Mo­hammed was 32 not out, and Ali got to 101 as they guid­ed Pre­sen­ta­tion, who are still un­beat­en to 245 for four, to suc­cess­ful­ly de­fend the League ti­tle they won last year.

Else­where, na­tion­al U-17 cap­tain, Bren­dan Boodoo, scored a dou­ble-cen­tu­ry to lead Pre­sen­ta­tion Col­lege San Fer­nan­do to a 279-run win over To­co Sec­ondary. Boodoo scored 200 from 142 balls that in­clud­ed 22 fours and four six­es as the Pre­sen­ta­tion team to­talled 391 for three.

To­co was then bowled out for 112 with Emilio Vil­lafana get­ting 4 for 16.
