The Queen’s Park Crick­et Club’s (QPCC) 8-A-Side Foot­ball Tour­na­ment came to a fit­ting con­clu­sion at the Queen’s Park Oval in St Clair, Port-of-Spain on Fri­day with all the di­vi­sion­al and in­di­vid­ual win­ners be­ing award­ed.

Fol­low­ing on from Mur­phyClarke’s lift­ing of the first ti­tle in the tour­na­ment, the Over-60 Di­vi­sion crown, the quar­tet of Ansa Mer­chant Bank (36-45), The Pouch Com­pa­ny (35 and Un­der), Q Pow­er Bat­tery (46 to 53) and Se­cu­ri­ty An­a­lyst Ser­vices (SAS) all cap­tured their di­vi­sion­al ti­tles.

Led by the pro­lif­ic De­von Mod­este who net­ted his league-best 11 goals in the tour­na­ment, ANSA Mer­chant Bank re­peat­ed as cham­pi­on of the 36 to 45 age group with 28 points from their 12 match­es on the sev­en-team ta­ble, nine ahead of Harts while C-Sport end­ed in the third spot with 18 points, ahead of Domi­no’s due to a su­pe­ri­or goal dif­fer­ence.

In the 35 and Un­der Di­vi­sion, debu­tants The Pouch Com­pa­ny, in­spired by Win­ston Guer­ra’s 13 goals, stormed to the ti­tle with a whop­ping 35 points from 14 match­es, eight more than Karcher while Full Bar­rel Sports Bar, who al­so got 13 goals from Kyle Mows­er was third with 25.

Jef­frey Dal­ton-Brown was named the “Gold­en Boot” and “Most Valu­able Play­er” (MVP) award re­cip­i­ent in lead­ing Q Pow­er Bat­tery to the ti­tle in the 46 to 53 Di­vi­sion with 24 points from ten match­es, nine clear of Ul­ti­mate Events with Mi­ni Bar tak­ing the third spot on goal dif­fer­ence from last year’s win­ner Pre­ci­sion Cy­ber af­ter both teams end­ed with 13 points each.

The trio of Sean Ram­doo (Gold­en Boot), Rigel Gomes (Best Goal­keep­er) and Ge­of­frey Whar­ton-Lake (MVP), all of Se­cu­ri­ty An­a­lyst Se­cu­ri­ty played in­stru­men­tal roles in help­ing their team de­throne All Out Sports Bar as win­ners of the 54 to 60 Di­vi­sion with 23 points from 12 match­es, two ahead of All Out with Steel Drum, third due to a bet­ter goal ag­gre­gate than House Hunters af­ter both end­ed with 18 points each.
