Trinidad and Tobago Red Force batsmen Kamil Pooran and Jyd Goolie had an exceptional batting performances together, as No Man’s Land Explorers won by ten wickets against Store Bay Snorkelers in the Dream 11 Bago T10 Blast Cricket Tournament at Shaw Park Recreational Park in Tobago on Thursday.
In the first match of round 13 of the competition, captain Dejourn Charles won the toss, and the Explorers opted to field first.
Snorkelers had a 22-run opening partnership from Daniel Williams and Dillion Douglas, scoring 18 and seven runs, respectively. However, wickets were tumbling around before Jabari Mills scored 16 from 15 balls, with three boundaries. The Store Bay Snorkelers ended the first innings with a score of 78 for seven in ten overs.
Trinbago Knight Riders, all-rounder, Tion Webster, picked up three wickets for 15 runs in his two overs.
In chasing a score of 79, Pooran and Goolie made it look easy in just 6.4 overs. Man of the match, Pooran scored 59 not out from 28 deliveries. He smashed six fours and three sixes, while Goolie scored 13 not out. Explorers won by ten wickets with a score of 79 for no loss in 6.4 overs.
Meanwhile, in the second match, Pirate’s Bay Raiders got their fifth consecutive win of the season thus far after their eight-run victory over the Mt Irvine Surfers.
Mt Irvine Surfers' captain, Kirstan Kallicharan, won the toss and elected to bowl first.
Despite the early dismissal of star player Evin Lewis, Nathaniel Mc David scored 46 runs from 24 deliveries, which led the Raiders to a score of 102 for four in ten overs. Marlon Richards scored 22 from 12 balls, while Surfers bowler Selvin Duncan, ended with figures of one for seven in two overs.
In the second innings, with captain Kallicharan and Cephas Cooper being dismissed early, a 66-run partnership between Shatrughan Rambaran and Gidron Pope, scoring 21 and 49 respectively, was still not enough for the Surfers. They ended on 94 for seven in ten overs.
Both Richards and Crystian Thurton for the Raiders ended with figures of 2 for seven in one over.
Today at the Shaw Park Recreational Park, King’s Bay Royals will face Store Bay Snorkelers at noon, and then Mt Irvine Surfers will battle it out with No Man’s Land Explorers at 2:30 p.m
