Mya Raymond is taking her Caribbean basketball success global, heading to Canada on a scholarship to advance her promising career.
A student at Carapichaima West Secondary School, Raymond has honed her skills over the past eight years with the Club Enterprise Basketball team, coached by Eric Knights. Her dedication has resulted in multiple “Most Valuable Player” (MVP) titles, gold medals, and national acclaim.
The 17-year-old has dominated local tournaments, consistently leading her teams to victory, including championships at the Milo tournament, Female Basketball Association (Fem.BA) “The Return” (2023), and the South Youth Tournament (2024) in the Girls Under-17 division.
Raymond’s talent has already taken her beyond T&T’s borders, as she represented the nation at the Centro-basket U-16 Championship in Nicaragua (2022), the Atlanta Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) tournament (2023), and the Female Fiesta Basketball League.
Her next major step is attending Cambridge International Academy in Ontario, Canada, on a basketball scholarship. This opportunity is a direct result of her hard work, on-court leadership, and proof that her talent is opening global doors.
Raymond serves as an inspiring role model for young athletes in Trinidad and Tobago, demonstrating the power of grassroots sports development and affirming that Caribbean talent belongs on the international stage.
