Ri­valz Bil­liards Club re­bound­ed from a dis­ap­point­ing third-round per­for­mance to de­feat Sikar­i­oz Bil­liards Club five to ze­ro on Wednes­day in week four of the Na­tion­al Pool League Pre­mier di­vi­sion. With the win, the Rea­gan Low Chew Tung-led Ri­valz climbs back up the thir­teen-team ta­ble from sev­enth to third with two wins from three match­es.

The Ri­valz cap­tain got the home team off to the per­fect start, de­feat­ing Fred Gra­ham 4-nil.

Kr­ishen­dath Heer­alal made it two wins in two games, bounc­ing back from a one-frame deficit to beat Al­bi Knights 4-1. The hosts se­cured the match with a 4-3 win in the dou­bles en­counter as Fa­reed Abra­ham and Ran­dell Bood­han teamed up against Sikar­i­oz BC cap­tain Adri­an Lo­gie and Muham­mad Rah­man.

The pair of Abra­ham and Bood­han fought back from 1-3 down to win a nail-bit­ing con­test.

That was the first of three ex­cit­ing hill/hill games. The Next would be be­tween Ri­valz Clint Bachan and Kevin Browne. Bachan took a two-nil lead on­ly for Browne to hit back with wins in the next two frames. Bachan went up 3-2 and again. Browne tied things up af­ter six frames. Bachan fin­ished stronger and gave the hosts a 4-nil match lead. Mar­tin Davis com­plet­ed the sweep with a come-from-be­hind win against Adri­an Mo­ra.

Af­ter split­ting the first two frames, Mo­ra went up three frames to win and was look­ing set to avoid the rout, but sev­er­al un­forced er­rors al­lowed Davis back in the match.

Davis, who is re­turn­ing to league com­pe­ti­tion af­ter sev­er­al years, was more com­posed and even­tu­al­ly closed out the game with three unan­swered racks. This is the first time the Sikar­i­oz Bil­liards The club has suf­fered a 5-nil drub­bing in their three years of be­ing in the Na­tion­al Pool League.

The loss sees them drop from fifth to ninth in the stand­ings.

Unit­ed Stars con­tin­ue to lead the Pre­mier di­vi­sion af­ter a 4-1 win against the fifth place Un­touch­ables. The Aaron Raghoo­nanan-cap­tained Unit­ed Stars re­main un­beat­en through four rounds of com­pe­ti­tion.

The Mer­ce­nar­ies, who were in­ac­tive in week four, are al­so un­de­feat­ed af­ter play­ing three match­es and are sec­ond in the stand­ings.

Cen­tral Stars now oc­cu­py fourth place on the NPL ta­ble af­ter suf­fer­ing their first loss of the league.

The Stars from Cen­tral, cap­tained by Jesse Gan­garam, went un­der to the Cen­tral Pre­mier Pool Club 2-3. De­spite the win, the Cen­tral Pre­mier Pool Club are in eighth place on the stand­ings with two wins and one loss.

Rox­bury Hus­tlerz and Shoot­ing Stars are sixth and sev­enth, re­spec­tive­ly, on the NPL ta­ble.

The two teams met at the Pyra­mid Sports Bar this past week, and it was the home team, the Shoot­ing Stars, which dom­i­nat­ed the match, win­ning the en­counter four games to one. UD As­sas­sins, play­ing out of the Up­per Deck Sports Bar in St. James reg­is­tered their first win of the 8 Ball cam­paign, beat­ing the vis­it­ing Orinoco A team 3-2.

In the fi­nal match of the round, the Princes Town Un­der­dogs al­so got their first points of the league, hand­ing Scotchie’s Spar­tans a 4-1 de­feat.
