Natania Rowe scored a remarkable eight goals to lead host club Magnolias to a 13-0 hammering of Checkers in their Women’s Under-21 semifinal when the 2026 Magnolias Hockey5s Tournament continued at the Woodbrook Youth Facility, Woodbrook, on Saturday night.
Rowe started the scoring as early as the first minute before she added further items in the third, sixth, seventh, eighth, 12th, 18th, and 20th for Magnolias in the one-sided encounter.
Leah Abraham chipped in with a hat-trick for Magnolias in the fifth, 15th, and 16th minutes, while Renallia Constantine (13th) and Kyla Canterbury (15th) added the others as they strolled into the final against Paragon.
Paragon had a much tougher task on their hands against Guyana’s Old Fort and needed to come from behind to earn a 2-1 win.
Makayla Poole fired Old Fort ahead in the ninth minute, but Mikeisha De Silva drew Paragon level in the tenth minute before Jadayah Kistow’s decisive strike in the 17th.
In the Boys’ Under-17 Division, Pro Sport Red and Fatima advanced to the final after contrasting semifinal wins.
Firstly, Pro Sport Red whipped Old Fort Vipers 7-1, led by a hat-trick from Cameron Padmore (sixth, 12th, 15th) and a double by N’Kosi Marcelle (first, 12th), while Fatima got the better of Old Fort Predators 3-1 via the penalty stroke shoot-out after a 1-1 deadlock.
In the only Girls Under-17 match, Magnolias triumphed over Ventures in a penalty shoot-out, winning 2-1 after a 1-1 draw, securing a spot in the final against Old Fort, who finished first in the round-robin series.
The Men’s Open quarterfinals failed to produce any shock outcomes, with Police, Defence Force, Malvern and Queen’s Park Cricket Club (QPCC) all reaching the semifinals. The tournament was expected to conclude last night.
