​The T&T Sec­ondary Schools Net­ball As­so­ci­a­tion (TTSS­NA) Cham­pi­onship Week is set to ig­nite to­day at Shaw Park, To­ba­go, kick­ing off with the high­ly an­tic­i­pat­ed in­di­vid­ual and team shoot­ing com­pe­ti­tions.

All eyes will be on the Girls Un­der-20 cat­e­go­ry, where Ju­nior na­tion­al stand­out Shi­an Lewis of Diego Mar­tin Cen­tral will be among the 12 hope­fuls vy­ing for the in­di­vid­ual shoot­ing ti­tle.

​To­day is a pure test of raw, in­di­vid­ual skill for the net­ball court’s sharpest shoot­ers across four di­vi­sions. The ac­tion fol­lows the open­ing cer­e­mo­ny at 9 am.

​Lewis, a stand­out on the na­tion­al cir­cuit, car­ries the weight of ex­pec­ta­tion—and the mo­men­tum of re­cent suc­cess. Ear­li­er this year, she was a vi­tal mem­ber of the T&T Un­der-16 team that snatched the Caribbean Net­ball As­so­ci­a­tion Jean Pierre Youth Cham­pi­onships crown for the first time. Now, she aims to cap her in­di­vid­ual ef­forts by se­cur­ing the pres­ti­gious TTSS­NA U-20 shoot­ing ti­tle.

​The com­pe­ti­tion is ex­pect­ed to be fierce, fea­tur­ing the best shoot­ers from schools across T&T. Fea­tured from the East are Bri­an­na Morang (Tu­na­puna) and Adan­naya Mar­tin (El Do­ra­do East). Gabrielle Richards and Tye-sha Grant rep­re­sent­ed St Joseph Col­lege and St Joseph’s Con­vent San Fer­nan­do, re­spec­tive­ly. The con­sis­tent shoot­ers from Rio Claro East, Megan Ray and Myeisha De Cain, were ready to make their mark. The To­ba­go con­tin­gent, with Kay­la Camp­bell (Sig­nal Hill) and Mikay­da Sylvester (Spey­side), will look to en­joy home-court ad­van­tage. Lewis’s ri­vals from her own area in­clude Jayleen Clarke and Alyssa Glenn (both of Diego Mar­tin North), all keen to out­shine her.

​Be­yond her in­di­vid­ual quest, Lewis will al­so look to help her Diego Mar­tin Cen­tral unit clinch the U-20 team shoot­ing ho­n­ours. They face stiff com­pe­ti­tion from St Joseph Con­vent San Fer­nan­do (San­do), Rio Claro East, Tu­na­puna, El Do­ra­do East, East Mu­cu­rapo, Sig­nal Hill and Spey­side High.

​Three oth­er di­vi­sions—13 & Un­der, 15 & Un­der, and Boys—will al­so be in ac­tion to­day for their re­spec­tive in­di­vid­ual and team shoot­ing com­pe­ti­tions.

​The fo­cus shifts lat­er in the week as teams be­gin their bat­tles for the re­spec­tive di­vi­sion­al ti­tles. Ac­tion on each game day starts at 9 am.
