ST JOHN’S, An­tigua – Pres­i­dent of Crick­et West In­dies (CWI), Dr Kishore Shal­low has re­vealed that the loom­ing ap­point­ments of a chief op­er­at­ing of­fi­cer and a chief com­mer­cial of­fi­cer are among sev­er­al new po­si­tions be­ing cre­at­ed at the re­gion­al in­sti­tu­tion.

Dr Shal­low said two per­sons had al­ready been re­cruit­ed for the new roles and were ex­pect­ed to start on Oc­to­ber 1.

Ad­di­tion­al­ly, he said with cur­rent chief ex­ec­u­tive of­fi­cer, John­ny Grave set to leave CWI in Oc­to­ber, the search to find his re­place­ment would com­mence in the next two weeks.

“We will start the re­cruit­ment process for a new CEO in the next two weeks or there­about. Ad­di­tion­al­ly, in terms of the new roles cre­at­ed, we have cre­at­ed a chief op­er­a­tions of­fi­cer role, and we ex­pect to have some­one re­cruit­ed for that role and start­ing in that role on Oc­to­ber 1,” Dr Shal­low said while speak­ing at CWI’s quar­ter­ly press con­fer­ence on Thurs­day.

“We are mak­ing a change of the usu­al com­mer­cial head role, so rather than it be­ing the com­mer­cial di­rec­tor, we are mov­ing for­ward with a new ti­tle of chief com­mer­cial of­fi­cer, which is in keep­ing with mod­ern day prac­tice of these types of or­gan­i­sa­tions.

“So we will have that in­di­vid­ual who has al­ready been re­cruit­ed, a high­ly com­pe­tent and ex­pe­ri­enced in­di­vid­ual who has worked with ICC and oth­er rep­utable or­gan­i­sa­tions. At this time, I will pre­fer not to name him but over the next cou­ple weeks or so we will an­nounce this in­di­vid­ual,” he added.

Dr Shal­low said while Nys­sa Pierre had re­cent­ly been named as the new com­mu­ni­ca­tions and me­dia man­ag­er, two me­dia of­fi­cers would al­so be join­ing the or­gan­i­sa­tion over the next two weeks.
