Team T&T de­liv­ered a com­mend­able per­for­mance, fin­ish­ing fifth over­all at the 2025 Caribbean Am­a­teur Ju­nior Golf Cham­pi­onships at Grande Re­serve Golf Course in Rio Grande, Puer­to Ri­co, which con­clud­ed Thurs­day (Ju­ly 31).

The tour­na­ment was won by host na­tion Puer­to Ri­co, which amassed 162 points across the com­pe­ti­tion, with the Do­mini­can Re­pub­lic sec­ond with 126 points. The Ba­hamas (124) and Ja­maica (100) placed third and fourth.

On their way to amass­ing 97 points, the fifth-place fin­ish by T&T’s golfers was un­der­scored by a first-place over­all fin­ish in the Girls’ 11-13 age group, while plac­ing third in the Boys’ 15 & un­der and in the Boys’ 18 & un­der di­vi­sions.

Among 13 na­tions vy­ing to cap­ture the Hank James tro­phy, which is giv­en to the cham­pi­onship’s win­ning coun­try, T&T’s eight-mem­ber team amassed 97 points over the four days of com­pe­ti­tion from Mon­day to Thurs­day (Ju­ly 28-31).

Over 100 of the re­gion’s best ju­nior golfers teed off at the re­gion’s most recog­nised youth golf event, com­pet­ing in six in­di­vid­ual age groups.

Is­abel­la Ramdeen was T&T’s best in­di­vid­ual per­former, plac­ing sec­ond in the Girls’ 11-13 di­vi­sion, and led T&T to win­ning that di­vi­sion. Ramdeen shot 74 on day one, 79 on day two and 80 on day three of the event, to fin­ish with a fi­nal score of +17. The in­di­vid­ual Girls 11-13 win­ner was Bermu­da’s Da­ri­na Betschart, who shot four un­der par.

T&T placed third over­all in the Boys’ 15-17 age group, be­hind hosts Puer­to Ri­co, which won the di­vi­sion, fol­lowed by the Do­mini­can Re­pub­lic in sec­ond. Ethan Col­lier placed fifth in­di­vid­u­al­ly with a score of 24 over par (75, 82, 83) and was sup­port­ed by Ben Laugh­lin with a +29 and Isa­iah Row­ley with a +31 fi­nal score.

The golfers in red, white and black fin­ished tied for third in the Boys’ 18 & un­der with the Ba­hamas. Team cap­tain Ross Ramkissoon placed sev­enth in the di­vi­sion with a +8 fi­nal score (73 + 73 + 78), while team­mate Adam Green placed 18th with scores of 82, 82 and 82.
