The quar­tet of Em-Miryam Camp­bell-Smith, her sis­ter Ab­ba Camp­bell-Smith, Zahra Sham­si, and Gabriel­la Prince all end­ed the round-robin group phase of the Con­fed­er­a­tion of Ten­nis of Cen­tral Amer­i­ca and the Caribbean (COTECC) Trin­i­ty Cup Ju­nior Cir­cuit 14 and Un­der Tour­na­ment with per­fect 3-0 records at the Na­tion­al Rac­quet Cen­tre, Or­ange Grove Main Road, Tacarigua on Sun­day.

Com­pet­ing in Group One of the 16-play­er field, the top-ranked Camp­bell-Smith (Em-Miryam) beat El­yse, Fer­gu­son, 4-0, 4-0, and Cu­ra­cao's Kezi­ah Flu­o­nia 4-1, 4-0 on Sat­ur­day be­fore she re­turned to de­feat Anya Ro­many 4-0, 4-0 in her fi­nal pool match ahead of to­day's main draw com­pe­ti­tion.

Flu­o­nia, ranked eight took the oth­er qual­i­fi­ca­tion spot from the pool by se­cur­ing wins in her two oth­er match­es against Ro­many 4-0, 4-1, and Fer­gu­son 4-1, 4-0.

The younger of the Camp­bell-Smith sis­ters, Ab­ba out­last­ed fifth-ranked Nao­mi Mo­hammed 4-1, 1-4, 4-2, Tae­gan Yeates 4-0, 4-0, and sec­ond-ranked Madi­son Khan 0-4, 5-3, 5-3 to come out a shock pool win­ner. Khan had ear­li­er beat­en Yeates 4-0, 4-1, and Mo­hammed 4-1, 4-0 to seal her pas­sage to the next phase.

Sham­si al­so pulled a sur­prise in Group Three as she up­staged the third-seed­ed Shiloh Walk­er 4-0, 4-0 and al­so blanked Christin Rich­mond 4-0, 4-0 fol­lowed by a 4-0, 4-1 spank­ing of Iso­belle Al­leyne.

Walk­er re­bound­ed with vic­to­ries Al­leyne 4-1, 4-0, and Rich­mond 4-1, 4-2 to seal the oth­er spot to the main draw from the pool.

And in Group Four, the fourth-ranked Prince de­feat­ed Make­da Bain 4-1, 5-3, Lil­ly Mo­hammed 4-2, 4-0, and Amy Dam­as­cus of Bonaire 4-0, 4-2, while Bain al­so ad­vanced af­ter vic­to­ries over Dam­as­cus 4-1, 4-1 and Mo­hammed 5-4(3), 4-2.

In the Boys' tour­na­ment, Jo­van Garib­ana, and Ni­rav Dougdeen were the two T&T play­ers as group win­ners in the main draw.

In Group Two, Garib­ana trounced Ja­cob Jacelon 4-0, 4-0 and St Lu­cian Al­hil Cyril 4-1, 4-2 for a 2-0 record and in Group Three, ninth-ranked Dougdeen swept past Cu­ra­cao's Leonar­do Winkel 4-1, 4-1, third-seed­ed Bri­an Har­richa­ran 4-2, 4-2, and Guyana's Jose Ro­drigues, 4-0, 4-0.

Har­richa­ran se­cured the oth­er spot from Group Two with wins against Ro­drigues 4-2, 4-0, and Winkel 4-0, 4-0.

The oth­er T&T boys to ad­vance were top-ranked Con­nor Car­ring­ton as the run­ner-up to Guyana's sev­enth-ranked Nathan De No­bre­ga in Group One with a 1-1 record, Gabriel De­noon al­so a sec­ond-place fin­ish­er in Group Three with a 2-1 record be­hind El Sal­vador's Ma­teo Gutier­rez and Dar­ius Ra­haman, al­so sec­ond in Group Four to Cu­ra­cao's tenth-ranked Bran­don Bridge­wa­ter with a sim­i­lar 2-1 mark.
