Trinidad and Tobago’s Ingrid Seebaran and Violet Roopchand are in the lead in the Women’s 45-plus division at the 2023 Caribbean Four Ball Golf Championships taking place at the Jack Nicklaus Golf Course at the Royal Blue Golf Club in Nassau, Bahamas on Wednesday.
After two days of play, Seeberan and Roopchand returned a combined score of 129, shooting 84 on the first day (Tuesday) and 84 on Wednesday.
The local ladies’ lone competitors, Jamaica, are second 150 (99, 52). The national golf lasses were ahead after day one and would look to extend their lead on the final day of action day today and return home with the Dessle Henry Trophy.
Another pair of national golfers, Christiana Ferreria and Arrianne McKenzie are in the runner-up spot in the Ladies 25-plus competition with 153 (85, 78). The pair will be aiming to go past leaders Jamaica 140 (95, 45) on the final day to win the Marie Nunes trophy. Bahamas is in third 191 (95, 96).
In the Men’s Senior category, Wayne Baptiste and Richard Camacho lie joint second with Cayman Islands A. Baptiste, the current president of the Trinidad and Tobago Golf Association, and his partner tallied 142 (71, 71) to sit behind Jamaica A 135 (66, 68). Eight teams are vying in the Senior Division for the Francis Steele Perkins trophy.
Sheriss Rampersad and Kevesh Ramnath are third among the Mid-Amateurs with 144 (74, 70) behind the Bahamas 140 (70, 79) and Jamaica A 141 (71, 70).
Team captains Steven Hall and Douglas Ammon sit in joint seventh among the Super Senior golfers with 154 (77, 77) along with Turks and Caicos. Bahamas, Jamaica A, and Barbados sit in the top three spots. Cayman Islands A, Jamaica B, and Cayman Islands B are all ahead of T&T.
