A Trinidad and To­ba­go mixed mar­tial arts team left on Sep­tem­ber 6 for Bo­gotá. Colom­bia, to com­pete at the 2026 Glob­al As­so­ci­a­tion of Mixed Mar­tial Arts (GAM­MA) Pan-Amer­i­can Cham­pi­onships, which be­gins to­day and con­tin­ues un­til Septem­ber 13.

The team en­ters the cham­pi­onships fol­low­ing a his­toric per­for­mance at the 2025 GAM­MA World Cham­pi­onships in São Paulo, Brazil, where T&T sent 14 ath­letes and re­turned with 14 medals, in­clu­sive of two gold medals, sev­en sil­ver, and five bronze, to fin­ish 12th in the world among more than 60 coun­tries.

The 2026 team in­cludes Seon Ad­har (cap­tain), Amy Ra­jku­mar, Re­nee For­tune, Che’don Grant, Kai-El Grant, Eli Jack­ie, Eli­jah Cud­joe, De­nahi Gus­tav, Jonathan Bun­bury, So­nia Ba­boolal, Mirza Grif­fith, and Jazz Julien.

The del­e­ga­tion is led by MMAATT Pres­i­dent Adam Chin Le­ung Kam, to­geth­er with Vice-Pres­i­dent and Head Coach Ker­ry Grant, strik­ing coach Richard Acos­ta, tech­ni­cal per­son­nel, and med­ical staff.

Le­ung Kam said the team is fo­cused and ready to build on last year’s suc­cess, “Our ath­letes proved at the World Cham­pi­onships that T&T can com­pete suc­cess­ful­ly at the high­est in­ter­na­tion­al lev­el. We are proud to once again rep­re­sent our coun­try, and our goal is to con­tin­ue build­ing on that suc­cess at the Pan-Amer­i­can Cham­pi­onships.”

MMAATT wish­es the en­tire team suc­cess as they car­ry the red, white, and black on­to an­oth­er in­ter­na­tion­al stage.
