Soca Kings could not have chosen the worst possible time to lose in the Dream 11 T10 Trinidad Blast. Unbeaten throughout the tournament, the Soca Kings lost the final to Samps Army Cocrico Cavaliers at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba, San Fernando on Saturday, by eight wickets in a match they were on the back foot through the encounter.

Murphy’s Law could have certainly entered the Soca Kings’ minds.

Soca Kings won the toss and elected to bat first and found themselves three wickets down for four runs with Kirstan Kallicharan, Vaaron Samaroo, and Jason Mohammed all back in the pavilion, with Shaaron Lewis the chief tormentor with figures of two wickets for three runs from his two overs.

The in-form Dejourn Charles gave the Soca Kings a bit of hope, as he struck a top score of 35 runs from 18 balls, with four sixes as he tried to bring the Soca Kings back into contention, but when he fell at 49 for four in the seventh over, the Cavaliers regained control of the game.

Jesse Bootan scored 18 as he tried to carry the Soca Kings to a competitive score but de was bowled by Jean Phillip Barrie at 61 for five in the eighth over. Sion Hackett proved good support for Lewis with figures of two for seven from his two overs.

The Soca Kings eventually closed on 75 for seven from their 10 overs.

But as the saying goes, 75 runs are still ‘runs on the board’, and the Soca Kings knew all they need to do is defend the total. Amir Jangoo took any hope of a win away from the Soca Kings as he got on almost immediately and struck a positive even 50 from just 27 balls, hitting five fours and two sixes in the process.

Only the wickets of Cephas Cooper (11) and Jordan Warner (1) were any good highlights for the Soca Kings as the Cavaliers reached 77 for two in eight and a half overs to win the Dream 11 T10 Trinidad Blast.

During my consultation with Ms Brafit CEO Nicole Joseph-Chin, what was supposed to be a simple mastectomy bra fitting became something much deeper. Her thoughtful questions unlocked emotions I didn’t even realise I was holding in. She comforted, reassured, and helped me face the truth of what was coming. That bra wasn’t just clothing—it was the first real symbol of life after surgery.
