Vet­er­an Azik­we Keller, a for­mer na­tion­al sprint cham­pi­on, re­turned to the race tracks at the Na­tion­al Cy­cling Cen­tre (NCC) in Bal­main, Cou­va on Sun­day to earn the ti­tle of na­tion­al cham­pi­on in the 1 Kilo­me­tre Time Tri­al event.

On the fi­nal day of the cham­pi­onship which had to be has­tened due to the out­break of the COVID19 (coro­n­avirus), Keller who rep­re­sent­ed his club Raiders out­last­ed his op­po­nents in the large field to win in time of one hour, 11.141 for the gold medal. His clos­est chal­lenger Vi­dal Ram­la­gan did not dis­ap­point, as he crossed the fin­ish line in a time of 1:23.35 for the run­ner-up po­si­tion.

Mean­while, Tariq Woods took the Ju­nior Time Tri­al ti­tle for his team Evo­lu­tion Acad­e­my in 1:10.314, while the pair of Ryan D’Abreau and Kyle Cara­by com­plet­ed a two-three for the oth­er two spots for Team Wheel­ers in 1:17.668 and 1:18.523 re­spec­tive­ly.

Among the Women, Sylese Chris­t­ian ran off with the 500 me­tres Time Tri­al event in a quick time of 39.046 while Makay­la Her­nan­dez of Madon­na Wheel­ers se­cured the run­ner up prize in 39.70.

Mean­while Gre­go­ry Dan­drade was elect­ed the new Vice Pres­i­dent of Rac­ing at the T&T Cy­cling Fed­er­a­tion. At an Emer­gency Gen­er­al Meet­ing on Sat­ur­day, Dan­drade was un­op­posed for the va­cant po­si­tion which was left so with the el­e­va­tion Joseph Roberts to the po­si­tion of pres­i­dent.
