?A fourth man has been ar­rest­ed in con­nec­tion with the mur­der of San­gre Grande school­teacher Bhas­mat Seemu­n­gal-Akaloo. The 18-year-old sus­pect was held at Dan Kel­ly Vil­lage, Laven­tille, on Sat­ur­day af­ter­noon by a par­ty of po­lice of­fi­cers led by act­ing ASP Sa­hadeo Singh and Sgt Bev­er­ly Paul. The sus­pect, of East­ern Quar­ry, Laven­tille, is re­port­ed­ly a URP work­er.

Of­fi­cers prob­ing the case are ex­pect­ed to con­sult with the Of­fice of the Di­rec­tor of Pub­lic Pros­e­cu­tions lat­er to­day be­fore charges of mur­der are laid against the sus­pect. In­ves­ti­ga­tors said they were search­ing for one more sus­pect in con­nec­tion with Seemu­n­gal-Akaloo's killing. Three men, in­clud­ing the vic­tim's hus­band, PC Sunil Akaloo, are al­ready be­fore the court, charged with the cap­i­tal of­fence. The oth­er ac­cused are Der­win David Par­ris, a URP fore­man of East­ern Quar­ry, Laven­tille, and spir­i­tu­al heal­er Mar­lon Lee, of Gon­za­les, Bel­mont. The ac­cused are ex­pect­ed to reap­pear be­fore Se­nior Mag­is­trate Ejen­ny Es­pinet in the San­gre Grande Mag­is­trates' Court on Fri­day. Seemu­n­gal-Akaloo was kid­napped from her Cu­nar­ipo home around 3 am on Sep­tem­ber 14 by four armed men. Her body was found hours lat­er, not too far from where she lived.
