The two-day in­au­gur­al Pearl and Bun­ty Lara Age Group Ta­ble Ten­nis Tour­na­ment host­ed by the T&T Ta­ble Ten­nis As­so­ci­a­tion (T&TT­TA) will serve off to­day at the Jean Pierre Sports Com­plex, Mu­cu­rapo from 9 am be­fore end­ing at the same venue to­mor­row.

The top ju­nior play­ers in T&T will bat­tle for top ho­n­ours in sev­en dif­fer­ent age-groups among the sin­gles com­pe­ti­tion as well as two dou­bles cat­e­gories. These cat­e­gories in­clude the Boy's and Girl's Un­der-ten; Un­der-13; Un­der-15; Un­der-18 and Un­der-21 sin­gles, the Un­der-13 and Un­der-15 Novice Sin­gles and the Un­der-15 and Un­der-21 Mixed Dou­bles com­pe­ti­tions.

First in­to ac­tion af­ter the open­ing cer­e­mo­ny will be the Un­der-ten boys and girls spear­head­ed by Pow­er­gen's Danielle Dick and Nali­ni Boodoo in the girls' and Care­nage Blasters Marc Pil­lai among the boy's. A fierce bat­tle is ex­pect­ed in the Un­der-21 mixed dou­bles with the pairs of Ken­win Small and Ash­ley Quashie, and Kwame Ro­driguez and Am­bi­ca Sitram bat­tling against UTT's Kris Frank and Av­er­nelle Abra­ham, and Kris­ten Sci­pio and Ter­rel Ab­bott.

The Un­der-15 boys will fea­ture Me­shach Pil­lai and Orell Coop­er as well as the Roop­nar­ine broth­ers, Vi­mal and Arun Roop­nar­ine, Vi­cente De­noon and Aaron Wil­son, while the Un­der-15 girls will see na­tion­al se­nior team play­er Cather­ine Spicer among the ti­tle con­tenders. In the Un­der-21 sin­gles com­pe­ti­tion, Care­nage Blasters' Ken­win Small and Kwame Ro­driguez will bat­tle for top ho­n­ours with the UTT quin­tet.
