Holders Caledonia AIA of Morvant/Laventille will begin defence of the Digicel Pro Bowl knockout title against the winners of the Group A qualifier between FC South End and St Ann's Rangers, in the quarterfinal round on November 27. This was disclosed by T&T Pro League's chief executive officer, Dexter Skeene at the launch of the tournament, formerly called the Courts Pro Bowl at President's Box, Queen's Park Oval, Tragarette Road, yesterday. South End and Rangers will meet in one of two qualifiers at the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella on Tuesday from 5 pm while two hours later, United Petrotrin and Police do battle in a Group B qualifier.
In the other Group A quarterfinal, three-time winner, Clico San Juan Jabloteh (2003, 2005 & 2006) will face last year's beaten finalist Defence Force while in Group B, Ma Pau tangles with another three-time winner, W Connection (2002, 2004 & 2007) and bmobile Joe Public will face the winner of the Petrotrin and Police encounter. The winners of the quarterfinals will meet on November 27 with the winners meeting on December 4, at venues to be determined. The prize structure of the competition adds further intrigue and flavour as the $100,000 winner-take-all prize, will increase with a percentage of the gate receipts from every match played. A gleeful Skeene said he was very excited by the sponsorship of Digicel as it is one of the few companies that really understands when you sponsor a sport brand you are paying for the right to associate with that brand.
