Caledonia AIA will get a chance to defend its title when it meets title-hungry bmobile Joe Public in the final of the 2009 Digicel Pro Bowl competition. The two teams edged past their opponents in the semifinals on Friday night in a double header at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo. Caledonia, the Morvant/Laventille-based team, had to wait until the 81st minute to break the deadlock against Defence Force in the first match. The eventual match winner came from a Kareem "Tiny" Joseph's free-kick on the left side from outside the 18-yard box, which left custodian Kevin Graham as a spectator.
This is the second win for the AIA team over their opponents after its 7�6 sudden death penalty kicks in the T&T Football Federation (TTFF) FA Trophy quarterfinal match at the Marvin Lee Stadium, Macoya last Monday. Caledonia, who will meet the "Eastern Lions" in the FA semifinal tomorrow, will take on the inform Public on Friday December 11 at the Hasely Crawford Stadium. Public, on the other hand, hunting a fourth title after claiming the 2009 Digicel Pro League, Big Six and Toyota Classic, got the better of Ma Pau in the second encounter. Unlike Caledonia, Public got its item early, and was able to hold off the "Casino Boys". Public took the lead in the 13th minute as national winger Hayden Tinto's first time volley crashed into the net.
