Professional female boxer, Ria Ramnarine reminded students of Morvant Anglican School on Monday that they are the future of the nation and as such they must begin to work towards achieving excellence in their chosen fields. Addressing the students during a visit to the school, Ramnarine also spoke of the dedication and discipline it requires to achieve any level of success.
"I grew up in a humble home and while my parents did not have much money, they taught us the importance of self-respect, confidence and dignity. Always believe in yourselves and your strength to achieve your goals," said the first female world boxing champion of T&T.
She also reminded the students to be respectful and obedient. "It is very important to remember your manners. Do not forget to say simple but important things like thank you, please, I'm sorry and so on." Boxu Potts, the manager of Ramnarine, accompanied his fighter on the courtesy visit. He attended the school as a five year old and expressed his utmost joy at being able to revisit the institution.
