So­ca War­riors and bmo­bile Joe Pub­lic strik­er, Ker­ry Bap­tiste left here yes­ter­day on a one-week tri­al at Co­ca-Co­la Eng­lish Di­vi­sion One club Ip­swich Town where he hopes to join coun­try­man Car­los Ed­wards on a per­ma­nent ba­sis.

The 29-year-old Bap­tiste, win­ner of the 2009 T&T Olympic Com­mit­tee 'Sports Per­son­al­i­ty of the Year" award and favourite for the Dig­i­cel T&T Pro League and T&T Foot­ball Fed­er­a­tion 'Play­er of the Year" awards was due to leave last month but had his trail stint pushed back due to the heavy snow fall in Eng­land dur­ing that time.

Speak­ing pri­or to his de­par­ture from Pi­ar­co In­ter­na­tion­al Air­port, Bap­tiste, scor­er of 48 goals in the do­mes­tic sea­son last sea­son which helped bmo­bile Joe Pub­lic to a his­toric five ti­tles said, "It's been 11 years now I've been wait­ing for an op­por­tu­ni­ty like this and I in­tend to make the most of it."
