?UNC chair­man Jack Warn­er has said "a new dawn, a new era" is up­on us. He was re­fer­ring to the deal by Per­sad-Bisses­sar and Con­gress of the Peo­ple (COP) po­lit­i­cal leader Win­ston Dook­er­an to unite the par­ties to de­feat Man­ning in the gen­er­al elec­tion. Warn­er cau­tioned Op­po­si­tion sup­port­ers against fight­ing each oth­er and sup­port­ers from their own par­ties. He stressed that the Op­po­si­tion had one en­e­my–the PNM. He made an ap­peal to sup­port­ers to be pa­tient for soon they will be freed from the PNM. Warn­er said he found it strange the Prime Min­is­ter would al­low PNM MP Kei­th Row­ley to fight the Diego Mar­tin West seat for the par­ty al­though he por­trayed Row­ley as taint­ed. He ex­pressed sus­pi­cion over Man­ning's mo­tive for nom­i­nat­ing Row­ley to fight the seat. Warn­er said he al­so found it amaz­ing Man­ning was will­ing to work with Row­ley af­ter launch­ing re­peat­ed at­tacks on Row­ley in the re­cent past.

He said it was a clear in­di­ca­tion that Row­ley was vin­di­cat­ed with re­spect to his con­cerns about cor­rupt op­er­a­tions at the State-owned Ur­ban De­vel­op­ment Cor­po­ra­tion of Trinidad and To­ba­go. Warn­er stressed that the lo­cal pop­u­la­tion should not sup­port Man­ning be­cause he was will­ing to sac­ri­fice and hu­mil­i­ate one of his own peo­ple–Row­ley–who ex­pressed reser­va­tions about wrong­do­ing. Speak­ers in­clud­ed the Head of the Move­ment for So­cial Jus­tice, trade union­ist David Ab­du­lah. He said on May 24 cit­i­zens of T&T would be able to get rid of the "al­ba­tross" around their necks, which he de­scribed as Patrick Man­ning and the PNM. In­cum­bent St Au­gus­tine MP, Vas­ant Bharath, us­ing words from PNM MP Dr Kei­th Row­ley to de­scribe the fi­nan­cial state of the coun­try, "The mon­ey done." He said the PNM gov­ern­ment was try­ing to raise mon­ey "chirrup, chirrup" through forc­ing the failed prop­er­ty tax ref­or­ma­tion on the pop­u­la­tion.
