Jazzpoint will dedicate its next performing arts experience to the ninth annual Daniel Pearl World Music Days awareness effort. The Jazzpoint Harmony for Humanity experience is part of the International Harmony for Humanity Concert Network of Daniel Pearl World Music Foundation.
The initial Daniel Pearl World Music Days event in 2002 honoured the birthday of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, an accomplished journalist and musician who was killed in Pakistan.
This renowned annual event joins together thousands around the world under the theme of Harmony for Humanity to celebrate the power of music to bring people together and focus on tolerance and our common humanity, rather than, the differences that set us apart.
More than 4,900 performances have been held in 102 countries since 2002. The first Trinidad and Tobago Harmony for Humanity experience date is October 31, and the event venue is Petrotrin Staff Club, Pointe-a-Pierre.
October is Calypso History Month and Jazzpoint Live band will feature a mix of Calypso Jazz and World Music with Errol Ince and friends, plus Larry Lee Luck, a unique acoustic guitarist, and Hungarian-born pianist Dr Charles Brunner and his quartet.
