Fruit cake with scotch this year

by

At the start of the Christmas season I was surprised to see the price of Angostura's rums go up again. I was just getting ready to soak fruits to make my Christmas fruit cake.

With things so hard in the country, and less money to spend, I had to look for A less expensive rum this year.

I found a brand from Guyana to be very good in quality and its price to be much lower than others on the market. However, when I went back to the supermarket to get more, I was told that it was out of stock. I looked around only to get the same results.

On investigating I was shocked to find out that the agent cannot get any stocks for Christmas because the Guyanese company has stopped supplying the brand following an arrangement with a local company. So what am I to do? I must have my fruit cake. Well, if according to Angostura its rum is better than scotch, instead of paying scotch price for rum, I am going to learn to make fruit cake with scotch.
