Twenty-five feature-length films from the Caribbean and its diaspora will screen at the 2015 T&T Film Festival (TTFF), which takes place from September 1529.
The festival announced the Caribbean section of its lineup as it continues to roll out its programme. Among the films selected is the highly anticipated musical drama Bazodee, directed by Todd Kessler and starring Machel Montano, which will have its world premiere at TTFF/15, a release said.
Also included in the T&T lineup of feature films is Joanne Johnson's family-friendly drama Sally's Way, which had a prize-winning world premiere at the Seattle International Children's Film Festival earlier this year.
Re-percussions: Our African Odyssey, directed by Kim Johnson, is one of the T&T documentaries screening at TTFF/15. The film–which will have its world premiere–follows up on Pan! Our Music Odyssey, which Johnson wrote and which opened last year's festival.
In addition to the feature films, a lineup of 49 short Caribbean films–24 fiction films and 25 documentaries–will screen at TTFF/15.
Announcements already made for the TTFF/15 are the opening night film (the Haitian documentary Sweet Micky for President) and the ten classic Caribbean films screening in celebration of the TTFF's tenth anniversary. Still to be announced are the international films screening in the festival's Panorama section, and the experimental works of the New Media section.
