A Christmas Carousel celebrating classical dance

Queen's Hall au­di­ences will take a jour­ney with a carousel of clas­si­cal per­for­mances on No­vem­ber 15 and 16. A Christ­mas Carousel promis­es to de­light lovers of dance and clas­si­cal mu­sic as the Cas­cade Fes­ti­val Bal­let with Bent­ley Pot­ter School of Dance stages yet an­oth­er reper­toire of en­ter­tain­ing pieces to cel­e­brate the joy­ous sea­son.A Christ­mas Carousel will fea­ture well-loved com­po­si­tions by Tchaikovsky and Waldeufel, with his Skaters' Waltz, and oth­er en­chant­i­ng pieces per­formed by dis­ci­plined, high­ly skilled and ver­sa­tile dancers.

The evenings' range of pro­grammes will fea­ture a m�lange of 12 dance pieces and will peak with the well-loved Christ­mas favourite, Waltz from the Nut­crack­er Bal­let. The Fes­ti­val Bal­let promis­es to thrill au­di­ences with el­e­gance and poise of colour­ful cos­tumed dancers, beau­ti­ful stage set­tings, and an en­ter­tain­ing blend of mu­sic.Ac­cord­ing to re­lease, the Fes­ti­val Bal­let is an in­no­va­tion of the Bent­ley-Pot­ter School of Dance. It com­pris­es tal­ent­ed stu­dents, some of whom have earned them­selves a cov­et­ed place in the an­nals of T&T dance. Both the school and the Fes­ti­val Bal­let have long been as­so­ci­at­ed with ex­cel­lence in tra­di­tion­al clas­si­cal bal­let, and their con­certs fea­ture an in­ter­est­ing mix of bal­let and mod­ern dance.

The school has hun­dreds of loy­al pa­trons who have en­joyed con­certs such as the Nut­crack­er, Cop­pelia, Capric­cio, Sleep­ing Beau­ty and ex­cerpts from Les Syl­phides, Swan Lake and Don Quixote.The pri­ma­ry aim of the Bent­ley-Pot­ter School of Dance is to give chil­dren, from age four, a firm ground­ing in the rudi­ments of clas­si­cal dance un­der the guid­ance of The Roy­al Acad­e­my of Dance, Eng­land, whose ex­am­in­ers vis­it Trinidad an­nu­al­ly. Hun­dreds of chil­dren have at­tained ex­cel­lent re­sults in the Roy­al Acad­e­my ex­am­i­na­tions, plac­ing them on an in­ter­na­tion­al lev­el in the world of dance.
