Sixth-seed­ed pair Je­lani David­son and Elan Mur­ray-Mendez ad­vanced to the semi­fi­nal of the men's dou­bles seg­ment of the BG T&T Tran­quil­li­ty Open 2013 ten­nis tour­na­ment, yes­ter­day, when they stunned their fourth-seed­ed op­po­nents Kendall Cuffy and Richard McLetchie 6-4, 6-2.

The re­sult saw the duo ad­vance along with Dun­stan De­noon and Javier Lewis, both of whom paired in a thrilling 7-6 (5), 6-4 vic­to­ry over broth­ers Col­in and Dion Au­guste.

Both teams will know their semi­fi­nal op­po­nents when the last two quar­ter­fi­nal match­es are played this evening.

Top-seed­ed Yohansey Williams and Vaughn Wil­son will chal­lenge Robert Lee Hunt and Win­ning­ton Grazette, be­fore Jabari Di­vid­son and Ke­shan Moon­sar pair up against Nabeel Mo­hammed and Aaron Soo Ping Chow.

In oth­er re­sults yes­ter­day, ladies favourite Bre­ana Stampfli was vic­to­ri­ous in both the ladies and mixed dou­bles, help­ing each to a spot in their re­spec­tive semi­fi­nals.In the ladies dou­bles, Stampfli and Don­na Chin Lee breezed past Joy Ar­joon-Singh and Kelta Sa­ta­hoo 6-0, 6-1, be­fore Dun­stan De­noon joined Stampfli in a sim­i­lar­ly one-sided 6-1, 6-0 vic­to­ry over San­jeev Seenath and Em­ma Rose Tre­strail in the mixed dou­bles.

Two play­ers, Ker­hon Ward and San­jay Pooran, were forced to re­tire in mid-con­test dur­ing sep­a­rate match­es in the sec­ond round stage of the mixed dou­bles due to in­juries sus­tained.
