It was a day of cen­turies yes­ter­day in the sixth round of the T&T Crick­et League Pre­mier Di­vi­sion two-day com­pe­ti­tion.Five hun­dreds were scored, with the Pow­er­gen open­ing pair of Nicholas Sookdeosingh and Evin Lewis shar­ing in an ag­gre­sive open­ing stand of 220 to guide their team in­to the dri­ver's seat at the end of day one against Bam­boo.

The left-hand­ed duo of Sookdeosingh (119) and na­tion­al play­er Lewis (103) clob­bered the Bam­boo bowlers all over the Syne Vil­lage ground yes­ter­day. Sookdeosingh struck 13 fours and three six­es, while Lewis hit nine fours and three six­es.How­ev­er, a mid­dle and low­er or­der col­lapse ini­ti­at­ed by Selvin Ja­cobs (6/59) and Dar­ren De­onar­ine (4/77), re­duced the dam­ag, lim­it­ing Pow­er­gen to 284 all out.

This gave Bam­boo a chance to bat yes­ter­day as well.Un­for­tu­nate­ly for Bam­boo, spin bowler Samuel Badree had oth­er ideas, pick­ing up 4/51. He was ably sup­port­ed by Dave Mo­hammed, who grabbed 3/23 as Bam­boo were skit­teld out for 144.At Kennedy Park, the Guyanese pair of Ran­gana Latchana and Ryan Ram­dass al­so scored cen­turies to leave Clarke Road in con­trol against Di­a­mond.

Latchana scored an un­beat­en 108, while Ram­dass made 105 as Clarke Road com­piled a mam­moth 301-7 de­clared. Guyanese Jonathon Foo was the best bowler for Di­a­mond, snatch­ing 3/73. At the close of play, Di­a­mond were strug­gling on 61-4.The oth­er cen­tu­ry mak­er of the day was Aranguez bats­man De­on Fer­ri­er, who scored an un­beat­en 109 to help his team to a strong po­si­tion against Mer­ry Boys.
