Marie Lebour­geois had a fas­ci­na­tion for Jew­el­ry and a pas­sion for it start­ing at five years old, At 15 Marie moved to Paris to study Jew­el­ry at the pres­ti­gious Ecole Boulle School And grad­u­at­ed top of the class at the famed Carti­er In­sti­tute. Af­ter five years study­ing and work ex­pe­ri­ence in­volv­ing over 17 com­pa­nies work­ing with Van Cleef, Boucheron, Bul­gari, De Beers, Louis Vuit­ton Joail­lerie ... to name a few, she de­vel­oped an ex­ten­sive knowl­edge of var­i­ous tech­niques. As a re­sult Marie was of­fered a job which changed the di­rec­tion of her life for­ev­er & start­ed at the Carti­er work­shop in Lon­don and af­ter sev­er­al years spent learn­ing the trade from mas­ter crafts­men, she won a sought-af­ter trans­fer to Carti­er New York to fine tune her skills. Her cre­ativ­i­ty and artis­tic in­ter­est lead her de­sign­ing jew­el­ry and cre­at­ed her com­pa­ny: Lebour­geois. Lebour­geois is a fash­ion jew­el­ry com­pa­ny with the fo­cus on putting the fun back in Fash­ion.

Marie most­ly works with 18K gold & Rhodi­um plat­ed base met­als & ster­ling sil­ver, se­mi pre­cious stones, Swarovs­ki el­e­ment, resin, pearls. Marie draws in­spi­ra­tion from her trav­els, her en­vi­ron­ment, art, mu­sic, con­trast be­tween the city,na­ture and peo­ple. Be it sail­ing a Cata­ma­ran in the Caribbean, rid­ing hors­es on her grand­fa­ther's ranch in Nor­mandy France, Fly fish­ing in Ire­land, Mush­room pick­ing in Ger­many, vis­it­ing Switzer­land for Jew­el­ry trade fairs, all in­spired her de­signs in dif­fer­ent ways; a col­or, a shape, a feel­ing. Marie Lebour­geois cre­ates hand­made jew­el­ry. For her, it is an ex­pres­sion of the artist that is man­i­fest­ed through his/her hands. The cre­ativ­i­ty re­flects through these pieces that the end user can con­nect to the artist's world and be part of it. Lebour­geois's new col­lec­tion was in­spired dur­ing Marie s trav­els. She sourced amaz­ing found ob­jects like seashells & cre­ates the ex­act im­print in met­al adding her fun touch us­ing tra­di­tion­al jew­el­ry mak­ing tech­niques!

The­Bird Cage Neck­lace

Moth­er of Pearl bird in a cage, on a swing. The cage door opens mak­ing this piece fun and quirky. The Bat­ti­mamzel Brooch - Rhodi­um or 18K gold plat­ed , in­di­vid­u­al­ly set with Swarovs­ki Crys­tals. This piece was in­spired when I was fly fish­ing in Ire­land. The Bi col­or Cuff - This is a new piece cur­rent­ly be­ing de­vel­oped us­ing the Lebour­geois Lo­go which is present on ear rings and neck­laces in the cur­rent col­lec­tion. The Lo­go was in­spired by the De­sign­ers ini­tials M and L for Marie Lebour­geois. The Noor Bracelet – This bracelet was in­spired by the birth of the De­sign­ers Daugh­ter who was named Noor, which means 'Light'. This piece has a translu­cent look and comes with many dif­fer­ent col­or op­tions, as worn by the Lebour­geois Mod­el.
