First FC San­ta Rosa has again lived up to its es­teemed po­si­tion as one of the top clubs in youth foot­ball, af­ter eas­ing in­to the na­tion­al semi­fi­nals as the top seed­ed team in all three NL­CB Na­tion­al Youth League di­vi­sions over the week­end.

The "Can­nons" topped Group A in the Un­der-14, U-16 and the U-18 di­vi­sion be­fore chal­leng­ing the top team in Group B of the re­spec­tive age groups, which they had lit­tle prob­lems deal­ing with. On Sun­day, San­ta Rosa's "Ba­by Can­nons" U-14 team de­feat­ed Group B win­ners Moru­ga Foot­ball club 4-2, with re­li­able strik­er Tevin Gar­cia bag­ging an­oth­er hat-trick. Isa­iah Lee notched the oth­er goal to con­firm San­ta Rosa's place against Joe Pub­lic FC, which fin­ished third in the fi­nal stand­ings with a 2-0 win over Siparia Spurs. Moru­ga, how­ev­er, was not elim­i­nat­ed and will play To­ba­go U-14 win­ner for a spot in the fi­nal.

San­ta Rosa's U-16 team was even more im­pres­sive in its quest for a place in the se­mi-fi­nal. De­spite on­ly de­feat­ing Group B win­ner Ea­gles Unit­ed on penal­ty kicks (5-4) af­ter a 1-1 stale­mate, San­ta Rosa reached to that point af­ter win­ning every match in Group A, scor­ing a whop­ping 28 goals, while on­ly con­ced­ing a sin­gle item. In the play-off to de­cide a spot in the se­mi-fi­nal, San­ta Rosa opened in the 68th minute and seemed to be head­ing for yet an­oth­er straight­for­ward win. David Mal­oney, Ea­gles' top at­tack­er re­spond­ed two min­utes lat­er, which tied the two teams up for spot kicks which San­ta Rosa nar­row­ly won. San­ta Rosa will meet South­ern Foot­ball Acad­e­my (5-0 win­ners over Club San­do) in the semi­fi­nal, while Ea­gles chal­lenges To­ba­go's U-16 win­ner Stoke­ly Vale in the oth­er last four match. Fi­nal­ly, San­ta Rosa con­tin­ued an­oth­er dom­i­nant ap­proach in the U-18 di­vi­sion, by top­ping the fi­nal stand­ings with a 3-0 win over Siparia Spurs to book a place with SKHY FC, which de­feat­ed Club San­do 4-0. Spurs will meet 1976 FC Phoenix, again of To­ba­go. All se­mi-fi­nal match­es will take place on Sat­ur­day.
