Over­all mar­ket ac­tiv­i­ty re­sult­ed from trad­ing in 13 se­cu­ri­ties of which six ad­vanced, four de­clined and three trad­ed firm. Trad­ing ac­tiv­i­ty on the first tier mar­ket reg­is­tered a vol­ume of 305,189 shares cross­ing the floor of the Ex­change val­ued at $1,964,155.29.

The Com­pos­ite In­dex ad­vanced by 1.17 points, or by 0.11 per cent, to close at 1,044.90, while the All T&T In­dex ad­vanced by 3.57 points, or by 0.23 per cent, to close at 1,583.50. The Cross List­ed In­dex de­clined by 0.14 points, or by 0.22 per cent, to close at 64.43.

Na­tion­al Com­mer­cial Bank Ja­maica was the vol­ume leader with 269,147 shares chang­ing hands for a val­ue of $445,479.10, fol­lowed by Sco­tia­bank Trinidad & To­ba­go with a vol­ume of 15,448 shares be­ing trad­ed for $959,011.28. Guardian Hold­ings Ltd con­tributed 11,000 shares with a val­ue of $181,451.25, while The West In­di­an To­bac­co (Wit­co) added 3,997 shares val­ued at $286,025.32.

Guardian Hold­ings Ltd en­joyed the day's largest gain, in­creas­ing $0.52 to end the day at $16.50. Wit­co added $0.25 to close at $71.56. Con­verse­ly, Na­tion­al Com­mer­cial Bank Ja­maica suf­fered the day's great­est loss, falling $0.02 to close at $1.66.
