Class and discrimination will take the spotlight at the staging of the play Blood Transfusion, at the Point Fortin East Secondary School auditorium on November 10, at 7 pm.

The play is produced and sponsored by the Point Fortin Performing Arts Association (TPFPAA).

Shivon Hendy plays the lead character, affluent dentist Dr Huggins, who dislikes people from Laventille, because of an unfortunate encounter he had years ago. Jermel Pierre plays Leroy, a respected and educated young man from Mango Alley, Laventille who is in love with Dr Huggins' daughter, Precious, played by Sophia Wiltshire.

When Dr Huggins finds out he needs a blood transfusion to save his life and a volunteer donor is a Laventille resident, he must decide whether or not he will allow his prejudice to get in the way of accepting the blood. Other members of the cast are Jason Francois, Janelle Crichlow and Michelle K Sydney.
