A first half hattrick from FC Santa Rosa's Jordan Devonish helped seal and emphatic 6-0 win over QPCC in Group A of the National Youth League under-17 on Sunday to take the club top of the table. Four different scorers, Duane Muckette, Akeel Modeste, David Lezama and Devonish, were on target for Santa Rosa on Match day four at YTC in Arouca. The result means that Santa Rosa stand on two wins and a draw with a positive goal difference of nine, while QPCC remains winless after conceding 10 goals.
Mayaro Spurs and Eagles United played in the afternoon game at the Mayaro Recreation Ground in the same group. Rendell Mc Intosh also recorded a hattrick for Mayaro Spurs (13th, 21st and 50th minutes) while Romario Gonzalez netted the other their team's convincing 4-1 winning display. Antonio Jeffrey scored the consolation in the first half which initially looked like a goal which may have turned the match around. With the win, Mayaro and Eagles sit in second and third positions respectively in the group.
In group B, West Side Super Starz FC defeated newcomers Tunapuna Titans 4-0 to share the lead at the top of table with Club Sando on six points. An in form Andrew Charles scored his second double in seven days. Avery Thomas and Keston Frederick scored one each. Deon O'Garro, Romarion Blackette and Jason Phillip were the scorers for Cap Off Youths in the central club's 3-1 win over Joe Public FC. Israel Honore scored late in the match for Joe Public. Meanwhile, in Saturdays fixtures in under-15 division, QPCC were again the subject of a heavy defeat.
M&M Harvard's Josh Toussaint scored the only goal in the first half before Glenroy Pierre's single effort and Anferme Marin's double in the second half sealed a 4-0 win over the Parkites. FC Santa Rosa sealed a narrow 1-0 win over Eagles United with a 62nd minute Jamal Lewis effort. Santa Rosa are now on top of Group A with nine points after securing a perfect three victories in as many games. Despite losing 3-2 to the Tunapuna Titans, FC Santa Rosa remain top of Group A in the under-13 division on six points. The Titans, with a game in hand, secured a first win and are now on four points.
Afton Molino opened the scoring the in the fifth minute for Santa Rosa, before the Titans replied with three goals in quick succession in the 13th and 19th minutes from Jabari Mayers and Ronaldo Boyce in the 25th minute. John-Paul Rochford brought one back for Santa Rosa in the 35th minute but the scoring was finished for the match. In Group B, the Cap Off Youths also recorded a third win in as many games after defeating Club Sando 2-1. The teams are first and second place in the group standings respectively. Joe Public also won their match against Real Maracas 2-1. The two maintain a place in third and forth.
