Win­ston Dook­er­an, I am sor­ry to see you leave but you have done the no­ble thing as usu­al. I am glad that you did not stick around to have your name and char­ac­ter ma­li­cious­ly dragged through the mud by self-serv­ing "John­nies come late­ly."

For so many years you have been giv­en a raw deal, all be­cause you have stood on prin­ci­ples and in­tegri­ty. You have nev­er been in­flu­enced by mon­ey or pow­er but were fo­cused on forg­ing a new pol­i­tics, a way for­ward for a democ­ra­cy of in­clu­sion, in­tegri­ty and vi­sion.

But as the say­ing goes, this de­ci­sion is a bless­ing in dis­guise, we now have a per­fect can­di­date for pres­i­dent. You will be a pres­i­dent we can be proud of. A man with all the at­trib­ut­es re­quired of some­one hold­ing this es­teemed of­fice. I say to the pow­ers that be: Win­ston Dook­er­an for Pres­i­dent.
