Rajesh Latchoo was confirmed as head coach of bmobile Joe Public for the 2011-2012 TT Pro League season. Joe Public general manager Sam Phillip made the announcement publicly during the closing ceremony of the club's HOPE (Helping Others is a Priority Everyday) GIB( Giving It Back) project on the Marvin Lee Stadium main field-one day before Latchoo's 27th Birthday on June 8.
And surely it was a gift worth unwrapping for the Princess Town boy. "Rajesh Latchoo is now the head coach of Joe Public," he said. "We have created history once more, with the youngest coach in the League." Latchoo, quietly found himself at the top coaching spot with the club following the release of 2009 five-title-winning coach Derek King in February.
Latchoo immediately switched his role as assistant coach to interim head coach but was left with limited resources after the club had already parted ways with influential players Japanese Yu Hoshide, midfielder Trent Noel and top forward Kerry Baptiste. Looking ahead to the new season which begins on August 12, 2011, Latchoo welcomes the challenge as head coach.
