Seven-time national champion Che Love­lace will lead a T&T master's team to the ISA World Masters Surfing Championship to be held in Punta Roca, La Libertad, El Salvador, from October 16 to 23. Other members of the team are Alan Davis, Sherrard Spiers, Craig Evelyn and Johnathan Torry. The best master surfers from all over the world will be competing for medals in the different age divisions. The ISA Masters is a great event, where camaraderie and fair play allow the best over-35-year-old surfers in the world to perform and enjoy spending time with their peers from around the world. Over 30 countries will be competing at the tournament and coverage of the event will be done by ESPN, Sports News and CBS Sports, and is estimated to reach more than 240 million television viewers worldwide.
Located at the coastal town of La Libertad, Punta Roca is considered by many as one of the best waves in the world. With the ideal swell, waves can reach up to 15 feet, extending for over 500 yards. The International Surfing Association (ISA) is recognised by the International Olym­pic Committee as the World Governing Authority for Surfing.
