Two men were mur­dered in sep­a­rate in­ci­dents in Mor­vant and San Juan be­tween Thurs­day night and yes­ter­day morn­ing. 

The most re­cent killing took place around 10 am yes­ter­day along Sec­ond Street, Barataria.

Po­lice re­port­ed that Ky­ron Reg­is of Mor­vant was shot while eat­ing a pie near his work­place. 

In­ves­ti­ga­tors said mo­ments ear­li­er, he and an­oth­er man had an al­ter­ca­tion, and they sus­pect the man re­turned and shot him. 

Reg­is was tak­en to the Er­ic Williams Med­ical Com­plex where he was de­clared dead on ar­rival. 

The sec­ond killing took place along Riverdale Road, Nev­er Dirty, Mor­vant, around 7.38 pm on Thurs­day. 

Po­lice said they re­ceived a re­port of gun­shots in the area and when they ar­rived they found 30-year-old Shaquille Pros­per of Cedar Street, Mor­vant, dead in­side a car.

Of­fi­cers said they re­cov­ered 21 spent 9 mm shells at the scene. 

Pros­per was a bar­tender and not known to be a gang mem­ber.

The two in­ci­dents, along with the killing in San­gre Grande, took the mur­der count to 69 for the year. —Jensen La Vende
