When you walk into DH Maison in Maraval, it’s hard not to pause. Soft music floats through the air, the scent of cappuccino and cinnamon fills the room, and Christmas lights twinkle against a backdrop of curated beauty. Every corner tells a story—a collection of textures, tones, and design moments that feel like home, only elevated.
This is the world of Dianne Hunt: designer, entrepreneur, and creative visionary. Her eye for style and detail has shaped local design culture for decades, spanning fashion, hospitality, and interiors.
Dianne’s journey began not in interiors, but in fashion. After studying Fashion Design and Production in Montreal, she returned to T&T and made her mark on the Caribbean’s emerging fashion landscape, known for clean tailoring, refined silhouettes, and a steadfast commitment to craftsmanship.
“Fashion taught me everything about proportion, texture, and balance,” Dianne reflects. “Those same principles live in every space I design today.”
Her ability to merge aesthetics with emotion quickly became her signature—whether she was designing a garment or a tablescape.
Her entrepreneurial spirit first manifested in Radical Designs. Her second venture, DH Gift, a popular home and gift store, combined Dianne’s eye for beautiful objects with her talent for curation. Long before lifestyle stores became the norm, DH Gift offered a taste of design-forward living: candles, linens, small luxuries, and handcrafted treasures that reflected her fashion sensibility.
“Even back then, I wanted people to experience the joy of happy living,” she says. “It was never just about the product. It was about how it made you feel.”
This philosophy later shaped her next venture, Dianne Tea Shop, a space beloved for its cozy, trendy atmosphere and welcoming vibe.
After selling the Tea Shop, Dianne launched DH Maison—a culmination of her creative journey. The store blends her experience in fashion, hospitality, and design into a single, cohesive vision.
DH Maison feels like stepping into an elegant Caribbean version of Pottery Barn or Williams-Sonoma, yet with the intimacy of a boutique and the personality of its founder in every detail. This season, Dianne is excited to unveil her expanded second-level shopping space.
From holiday décor to accent furniture and artisanal candles, every item is chosen with an editor’s eye—a reflection of Dianne’s lifelong belief that beauty belongs in everyday life.
“Luxury doesn’t have to be out of reach,” she says. “It’s about surrounding yourself with things that make you feel good, whether it’s your favourite scented candle, a coffee mug, or a space that feels intentionally designed.”
A café, a concept, a lifestyle
Inside DH Maison, a stylish café offers a sensory pause. Customers can enjoy a rich cappuccino, a chocolate croissant, or a quiet moment surrounded by design. It’s the perfect fusion of form and function, proving that hospitality and aesthetics can live in harmony.
The DH Maison Café, where coffee meets creativity and design becomes an experience, is located on Long Circular Road, Port-of-Spain, just past Assumption Church in Maraval.
For Dianne, DH Maison is still unfolding. Her next phase brings her story full circle—back to the world where it all began.
“Fashion is coming,” she smiles. “It’s always been part of who I am. Now, I want to bring that sensibility into the DH Maison world, to let people experience style across every part of life.”
This next chapter will see DH Maison expand into interiors, fashion, and wearable design, creating a true lifestyle brand.
From DH Gift to Radical Designs and the beloved Dianne Tea Shop, Dianne Hunt has always championed one idea: we should all love how we live.
“Home is where life happens, and it should always be beautiful.”
