Nailah Blackman’s Sokahchella (Soca Chiller) drew an appreciative crowd to SAPA-South last Sunday.
Patrons were at the venue early in high anticipation of enjoying the show which featured more than 20 artistes’ appearances.
The entertainer shared the stage with several other acts who complimented the transitions of her most popular songs and wardrobe changes. Part of her music set was dedicated to legendary calypsonians who made their imprints in the industry including her grandfather Garfield “Ras Shorty” Blackman, Dexter “Blaxx’ Stewart, Winston “Explainer” Henry, and Dr Leroy “Black Stalin” Calliste.
Fanning the fortitude of these men’s contribution to the art form, Blackman acknowledged each one by singing a hit song, much to the patron’s delight.
Here are some of the highlights from the evening’s event.
