Crossover singer Sasha Melody is turn­ing heads with a fresh twist on her hit sin­gle Mix You Up. The Car­ni­val 2026 re­lease brings a live­ly chut­ney remix that fus­es fete-bub­bling so­ca en­er­gy with the rich har­monies of In­do-Caribbean mu­sic, re­flect­ing the vi­brant cul­tur­al ta­pes­try that has shaped her artistry.

Pro­duced by Dar­rell Pugs­ley, the remix rein­vents the orig­i­nal with a spir­it­ed chut­ney groove while pre­serv­ing the play­ful en­er­gy that first cap­ti­vat­ed lis­ten­ers ear­li­er in the sea­son. Writ­ten by Kit­wana Is­rael and fea­tur­ing back­ing vo­cals from Jo­jo Hud­son, the track is both a cel­e­bra­tion of Caribbean sound and a tes­ta­ment to Melody’s ver­sa­til­i­ty.

For Sasha, the remix is more than a mu­si­cal ex­per­i­ment. “Mu­sic in the Caribbean has al­ways been about mix­ing cul­tures and rhythms,” she said. “When we start­ed work­ing on this remix, it felt right. Mix You Up al­ready had that play­ful en­er­gy, and the chut­ney vibe just gave it an­oth­er lay­er of life.”

Raised be­tween the Unit­ed States and Trinidad and To­ba­go, and of Guyanese de­scent, Sasha Melody has been per­form­ing from a young age. Her ex­pe­ri­ences across these di­verse cul­tur­al spaces have shaped a sound that blends so­ca, pop, and is­land in­flu­ences, ap­peal­ing to au­di­ences across North Amer­i­ca and the Caribbean di­as­po­ra. She has steadi­ly built a loy­al fol­low­ing through ap­pear­ances at Caribbean fes­ti­vals, bring­ing her en­er­getic per­for­mances and au­then­tic sound to stages across the re­gion.

The orig­i­nal ver­sion of Mix You Up in­tro­duced Melody to a wider au­di­ence, es­tab­lish­ing her as a ris­ing force on the Car­ni­val cir­cuit. With this chut­ney remix, she hopes to ex­tend her reach even fur­ther. “I love how mu­sic can cross spaces,” she said. “This remix is about cel­e­bra­tion. It re­flects our peo­ple, our en­er­gies, and the spaces we share. To be able to share that with the world is tru­ly spe­cial.”
