Canadian business process outsourcing (BPO) provider SinglePoint Group International Inc. (SinglePoint GI), has expanded its operations in T&T.
In a news release yesterday, SinglePoint confirmed it has invested an additional TT$1.1 million as well as hiring 11 new employees.
The company said this brought its total investment in the country to TT$5.1 million since it commenced operations with 75 employees in Longdenville, Chaguanas, in September 2025, as part of a strategic relocation from the Dominican Republic.
That move, the company said, was driven by the company’s objective to establish a nearshore presence that would better serve its North American client base.
SinglePoint explained the initial investment of TT$4 million covered facility set-up, employee recruitment and training, salaries, and first-year operational expenses.
“We selected Trinidad and Tobago primarily because of its highly educated, native English-speaking workforce and its convenient proximity to our North American clients, with direct flight connections readily available,” says Matthew Jarvis, senior vice president, Global Operations of SinglePoint GI.
“Compared with other markets we evaluated, Trinidad and Tobago offered the right combination of talent, accessibility and business potential, making it the ideal location for our expansion,” said Jarvis.
CEO of GlobalTT, Sekou Alleyne, noted the broader impact of BPO investments on the national economy.
“We remain committed to driving the growth of Trinidad and Tobago’s BPO sector because of its proven contribution to economic development and workforce advancement,” says Alleyne. “These investments contribute to national development through the initial setup costs as well as 100 per cent forex earnings during the subsequent operations. They form part of a broader strategy to significantly increase the contribution of services exports to our economy while creating meaningful employment opportunities and a substantive career path for young people. Since 2015, Global Trinidad and Tobago has facilitated the establishment of 11 foreign BPO companies, which are collectively projected to generate more than 4,000 jobs by the end of 2026.”
The release said that following a strategic partnership with Nearshore Teleservices—another BPO company facilitated by GlobalTT in 2023—Single Point GI currently operates from Nearshore Teleservices’ facility and employs approximately 86 staff members. The company plans to expand its workforce to 150 employees by the end of 2026.
Single Point GI’s expansion in T&T was hailed as a positive sign for the country’s growing reputation as a competitive nearshore destination for international business services and reinforces the country’s attractiveness as an investment location for companies seeking access to skilled talent and strategic market connectivity.
The release pointed out that Port of Spain was ranked #5 out of 10 best BPO destinations in LATAM & the Caribbean on the Nearshore Value Index in 2024.
