Following the recent death of its executive chairman Bruce Dingwall, San Fernando-based Trinity Exploration & Production yesterday announced several changes to the helm of its organisation including the appointment of two existing board members to the posts of non-executive chairman and chief executive officer.

Trinity said the moves were aimed at strengthening its team.

Nick Clayton has been named Trinity’s non-executive chairman while Jeremy Bridglalsingh has been named chief executive officer.

Clayton has over 37 years of experience within the global oil and gas sector both as a practitioner and director, providing strategic and corporate finance advice.

Bridglalsingh, joined Trinity in 2012 and assumed the role of Chief Financial Officer in January 2016 and then managing director in 2019.

Trinity said Hudson’s appointment “will definitely add immense value to the already robust leadership” at the organisation

Hudson is a geologist by profession, having over 30 years senior level experience in the oil and gas industry, operating globally with multi-national organisations and state enterprises.

He is currently non-executive chairman of Scotiabank T&T.

“The appointments will enable the company to further deliver on its multiple growth projects following the recent passing of Bruce Dingwall CBE, executive chairman,” it stated.

Dingwall an energy veteran passed away in August at the age of 61.

We are extremely pleased that Derek Hudson has joined the Board of Trinity to help us deliver the best results for our fellow citizens. Derek is a well-known and highly respected figure both locally and in the international oil and gas industry. His outstanding track record across a range of complex exploration, business development, financial and operational activities in both offshore and onshore environments brings significant complementary skills to the Board and will augment our technical and industry-specific commercial expertise.

“In addition to our traditional producing business, we continue to explore new energy options, decarbonisation and reducing pollution levels with local partners and are focused on giving back to the community. We look forward to updating you on activities in due course.”

Hudson said:”I am delighted to have joined the Board of Trinity and look forward to assisting the Group as it builds on the legacy of Bruce Dingwall. Bruce and I were professional colleagues for many years and it is an honour to be lending my support to the Board in taking the Company forward to ensure that Bruce’s aspirations for Trinity to be a strong and balanced energy business will be met.”
