The cost of month­ly park­ing at Gov­ern­ment Plaza Parkade (GPP) is set to in­crease next week.

State-owned Ude­cott, which is the man­ag­er of the car park in down­town Port-of-Spain, an­nounced a $50 in­crease for re­served and VIP park­ing, in a no­tice post­ed around the Parkade, as part of its changes to its park­ing arrange­ment.

Re­served park­ing will in­crease from $600 to $650 while VIP Park­ing will in­crease from $700 to $750.

The no­tice ex­plained the changes will take ef­fect on Sep­tem­ber 1, 2026.

Ude­cott stat­ed, “As part of our out­go­ing ef­forts to im­prove the park­ing ex­pe­ri­ence for our val­ued cus­tomers, the Ur­ban De­vel­op­ment Cor­po­ra­tion of Trinidad and To­ba­go (Ude­cott) will be im­ple­ment­ing changes to the month­ly park­ing arrange­ment at the Gov­ern­ment Plaza Parkade.”

The no­tice ex­plained, 'What is chang­ing?' — Month­ly park­ing will tran­si­tion from in­di­vid­u­al­ly as­signed park­ing spaces to a flex­i­ble re­served park­ing sys­tem. Month­ly clients will have ac­cess to any avail­able park­ing space des­ig­nat­ed as “re­served” on as­signed park­ing lev­els. Clients will no longer be re­strict­ed to a spe­cif­ic park­ing space. This new arrange­ment pro­vides greater flex­i­bil­i­ty, im­proved space util­i­sa­tion, and eas­i­er ac­cess to park­ing.”

VIP Park­ing will re­main on the ground floor (no change), while month­ly re­served park­ing will now be lo­cat­ed on lev­els two to 12 on the west­ern side of the Parkade. Tran­sient park­ing for hourly and dai­ly will now be on lev­els two to 12 along the east­ern side of the Parkade.
