Unicomer (Trinidad) Ltd, the parent company of Courts, has collaborated with its suppliers to procure, donated and deliver furnishings and supplies to the 50-bed Stepdown Facility at the National Racquet Centre in Tacarigua.
In a media release the company said the donation comprised 50 beds with hospital-grade mattresses, 50 mattress protectors, 50 pillows, 50 sets of bed linen and blankets and 50 sets of bath linen.
"These are very trying times for our staff, customers, suppliers, our fellow business operators and traders, our communities and indeed all of Trinidad and Tobago. However, despite the challenge of COVID-19, we must identify and contribute to initiatives that are helpful to the national fight and response. A contribution like this is helpful to all of Trinidad and Tobago, whether you are a team member on the front line, support staff, customer or supplier” stated Clive Fletcher, Managing Director of Unicomer (Trinidad) Ltd.
Government has identified a number of step-down facilities for citizens who may have been in the hospital due to the COVID-19 virus and have made sufficient improvement so they no longer require being on a ward and can convalesce in a step-down facility.
Unicomer's Managing Director said he recognized that all must pool resources and efforts to combat COVID-19 so that our citizens can return to their usual lifestyle.
“If you reside in Trinidad and Tobago, these Stepdown Facilities will directly or indirectly benefit you. We are therefore happy to have had an opportunity to contribute to this particular initiative." He said.
Unicomer (Trinidad) added that it was ready to contribute to the thought process and formulation of new measures that will allow for business continuity.
