SEWA International T&T, non-profit organisation headed by Revan Teelucksingh, is currently co-ordinating relief efforts for those affected by the recent floods. For several days areas in south Trinidad, including Barrackpore, Debe, Penal, Sa Francique, Woodland and Palo Seco have been under water.
In a facebook post over the weekend, SEWA shared ways in which the public could contribute and volunteer to provide relief to those affected.
Anyone willing to assist can sponsor sandwiches from Subway for $10 at the following Subway branches:
Also, SEWA TT relief food packs can also be donated. These are $100 each and are available at many of our supermarkets (see list below).
Each relief pack contains: flour, rice, oil, milk, baking powder, macaroni, oats, peas and beans, sanitary supplies etc.
Cash donations are also accepted towards the purchase of cleaning supplies, mattresses and water. This can be made at any Republic Bank or via online banking to SEWA’s account.
