There are 10 new positive cases of COVID-19 in Trinidad and Tobago, based on samples taken from patients between Friday 1st and Sunday 3rd January 2021.
That’s according to the latest update from the Ministry of Health, which says these new patients bring the total number of active cases in the country to 333 patients, a drop from yesterday’s figure of 351 patients.
In its update for today, Monday 4th January 2021, the Ministry also is reporting no new deaths from COVID-19 over the past 24 hours, with the national toll holding at 127 persons.
The Health Ministry also notes in its update:
● 23 persons are still hospitalised for COVID-19; down from 24 patients on Sunday.
● 234 persons are in home self-isolation; down from 255 patients on Sunday. 17 of these patients are in the prison system.
● 209 persons are in State quarantine facilities; no change from Sunday.
● 66 patients are still recovering in step/down facilities; no change from Sunday.

TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO COVID-19 (NOVEL CORONAVIRUS) UPDATE #594
As part of the national drive to safeguard the health of the Trinidad and Tobago population in the face of the global COVID-19 outbreak, the Ministry of Health continues to provide up-to-date information on the country’s status in this regard.
The following is a clinical update as at 4 pm on Monday 4th January 2021. The population is reminded to rely solely on information from official sources, such as the Ministry of Health.

Members of the public are reminded that they must adhere to the ‘New Normal’ recommendations and take the following personal health measures to protect themselves and their loved ones from COVID-19:
● Wear a mask over your nose and mouth when you go out in public
● Keep your distance from others (6 feet)
● Stay home if you are ill
● Clean then sanitise surfaces (e.g. tabletops, door knobs and cell phones)
● Wash your hands often with soap and waters or use an alcohol-based hand sanitiser
● Cough into a tissue or into the cook of your elbow
● Avoid touching your face
If you or a loved one develops symptoms of COVID-19, please call the hotline 877-WELL or 800-WELL (9355) for further guidance.
If the person is severely ill, call the 811 (emergency hotline) or call ahead to the Accident and Emergency Department of your nearest hospital for help and go in immediately.
