Three sus­pects were ar­rest­ed, and an es­ti­mat­ed $1.3 mil­lion worth of cannabis was seized dur­ing an an­ti-crime ex­er­cise con­duct­ed in Trinci­ty over the week­end.

In a state­ment is­sued yes­ter­day, the TTPS said of­fi­cers from the DCP Op­er­a­tions Unit car­ried out the ex­er­cise at the Ma­coya In­dus­tri­al Es­tate around 4.20 pm on Sat­ur­day, based on in­tel­li­gence about an al­leged drug ship­ment.

Po­lice said dur­ing the ex­er­cise, 82 black pack­ets, four brown pack­ets, two trans­par­ent pack­ets, and one red pack­et—all con­tain­ing cannabis—were dis­cov­ered. Of­fi­cers added that the seized cannabis is worth an es­ti­mat­ed $1.3 mil­lion.

The sus­pects, aged 26 to 42, from Trinci­ty and Ch­agua­nas, were ar­rest­ed for pos­ses­sion of cannabis for the pur­pose of traf­fick­ing. In­ves­ti­ga­tions are on­go­ing.
