Three suspects were arrested, and an estimated $1.3 million worth of cannabis was seized during an anti-crime exercise conducted in Trincity over the weekend.
In a statement issued yesterday, the TTPS said officers from the DCP Operations Unit carried out the exercise at the Macoya Industrial Estate around 4.20 pm on Saturday, based on intelligence about an alleged drug shipment.
Police said during the exercise, 82 black packets, four brown packets, two transparent packets, and one red packet—all containing cannabis—were discovered. Officers added that the seized cannabis is worth an estimated $1.3 million.
The suspects, aged 26 to 42, from Trincity and Chaguanas, were arrested for possession of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking. Investigations are ongoing.
