Amalgamated Security Services Ltd (ASSL) has awarded grants to 48 students who will be starting secondary school tomorrow.
During a function at the ASSL’s Chaguanas office, recipients of the Anthony Joseph Foundation (AJF) grant were presented with $500 vouchers by the security firm’s executive chairman Dr Michael Aboud for their outstanding performance in the 2023 Secondary Entrance Assessment (SEA) examination.
Aboud urged the students to strive for excellence and to approach their studies with “dedication, commitment and the unwavering belief that your potential knows no bounds”.
“Embrace challenges with courage for they are the stepping stones of greatness,” he added
Aboud also advised the students to remain united by the ideals that drive us forward, forever honouring the memory of Joseph and the values he embodied. He said Joseph not only revered education and understood its significance but also recognised how its absence can impact one’s journey.
“By setting your course towards success and upholding the values of integrity, perseverance and excellence, you will undoubtedly leave a mark that echoes through time. I also ask each one to remain patriotic to our country and help us to make a difference and be part of the solution and not the problem,” he said.
The AJF was launched in 2016 by ASSL in memory of Corporal Anthony Joseph, a security officer who died in December 2015 in the line of duty. Joseph had served the company for more than 30 years.
