San­gre Grande Po­lice is­sued 59 Pub­lic Health no­tices to mo­torists and pedes­tri­ans for not wear­ing face masks on Fri­day night, while 41 tick­ets were is­sued to mo­torists for over­crowd­ing of ve­hi­cles, no lights, loud mu­sic, smooth tyres and il­le­gal fit­tings on ve­hi­cles.

The road­block took place along the East­ern Main Road from 7 pm to 11.30 pm.

The ex­er­cise was lead by Asp Joseph, su­per­vised by Sgt John­son and in­clud­ed of­fi­cers of the charge room and traf­fic sec­tion. Po­lice al­so con­duct­ed 25 field in­ter­views.

Asp Joseph is ap­peal­ing to mem­bers of the pub­lic to fol­low the Pub­lic Health Reg­u­la­tion by wear­ing their face mask as the spread of COVID-19 virus is on the in­crease and deaths keep in­creas­ing dai­ly.
