Argument over money in Siparia ends in stabbing

An ar­gu­ment over mon­ey led to a 38-year-old man be­ing stabbed re­peat­ed­ly in Siparia on Sun­day. 

Po­lice said around 9.20 am, the vic­tim got in­to an ar­gu­ment with a 19-year-old neigh­bour over mon­ey owed. The teenag­er stabbed him sev­er­al times near his left eye, right fore­arm, right foot, stom­ach and the back of his head.

The vic­tim was tak­en to the Siparia Health Fa­cil­i­ty and then trans­ferred to the San Fer­nan­do Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal in a se­ri­ous con­di­tion.   

The sus­pect was ar­rest­ed and tak­en to the Siparia Po­lice Sta­tion. The sus­pect and vic­tim are from Coo­ra Branch Road, Siparia. 

PC Chaitram­s­ingh is in­ves­ti­gat­ing. 

Cops probe ca­ble theft

Mean­while, po­lice of­fi­cers in San­ta Flo­ra are in­ves­ti­gat­ing the theft of ca­ble from an oil com­pa­ny in Pa­lo Seco.

Po­lice said around 4.25 pm on Sun­day, a se­cu­ri­ty of­fi­cer with Blan­ket Se­cu­ri­ty, con­duct­ed a pa­trol at Lease Op­er­a­tors WDI, Field Lo­ca­tion 619, in Pa­lo Seco and every­thing ap­peared to be in­tact. 

How­ev­er, around 5.20pm, dur­ing his sec­ond pa­trol, he ob­served 300 feet of heavy-du­ty in­dus­tri­al ca­ble, which were at­tached to three stand­ing lights, miss­ing.

Po­lice were called in and PC John and WPC Gra­ham vis­it­ed scene.
