Five Venezuelans were among 13 people arrested during an anti-crime police exercise on Central on Thursday where a loaded AK-47 assault rifle was also recovered.
According to a police report, officers from the Central Division’s Task Force and CID acted on a tip-off went to several houses in Freeport, Enterprise and Cunupia where they recovered an undisclosed amount of marijuana, cocaine and a loaded AK-47 assault rifle with 75 rounds of 7.62 ammunition.
Police said the suspects arrested were between the ages of 17 to 50 years.
The exercise was spearheaded by Central’s new Divisional Commander Senior Superintendent Inraj Balram with assistance from ASP Smith.
Investigations are continuing.
