Five Venezue­lans were among 13 peo­ple ar­rest­ed dur­ing an an­ti-crime po­lice ex­er­cise on Cen­tral on Thurs­day where a loaded AK-47 as­sault ri­fle was al­so re­cov­ered.

Ac­cord­ing to a po­lice re­port, of­fi­cers from the Cen­tral Di­vi­sion’s Task Force and CID act­ed on a tip-off went to sev­er­al hous­es in Freeport, En­ter­prise and Cunu­pia where they re­cov­ered an undis­closed amount of mar­i­jua­na, co­caine and a loaded AK-47 as­sault ri­fle with 75 rounds of 7.62 am­mu­ni­tion. 

Po­lice said the sus­pects ar­rest­ed were be­tween the ages of 17 to 50 years.

The ex­er­cise was spear­head­ed by Cen­tral’s new Di­vi­sion­al Com­man­der Se­nior Su­per­in­ten­dent In­raj Bal­ram with as­sis­tance from ASP Smith.
